Abruzzo Farmhouse

Located between the medieval villages of Montefino and Castiglione Messer Raimondo, in the Teramo province of Abruzzo in central Italy, we have restored two beautiful and ancient stone farmhouses to create unique holiday rental properties.

Casa Cichella has beautiful reception rooms with original brick arched ceilings and a large garden with private swimming pool. It comfortably sleeps 8 people in 3 large bedrooms.

Fonte Monache has many original architectural features including beautiful brick floors and the original ceilings upstairs. It has its own private pool and attractive gardens and comfortably sleeps 6 people.

Both houses are set amongst the olive groves of our olive farm enjoying tranquil positions, very secluded from each  other and the next nearest neighbours.

Abruzzo is a land of contrasts, home to the highest peaks in the Apennines towering behind 133 kilometres of Adriatic beaches.

The medieval villages, that cap rolling hills cloaked with olives and vines, are connected to bustling and  vibrant cities via quiet country lanes

It is the most sparsely populated region of Italy with a third of its area protected as parks or reserves and one of the last natural habitats for the Marsician brown bear, Apennine chamois and wolves.

Within easy reach of Casa Cichella and Fonte Monache you can bask on sandy beaches, swim in the Adriatic, walk on the high plateau of the Gran Sasso range, climb 2,900 metre peaks, horse ride, mountain bike, cross country & downhill ski, stroll in green river valleys, visit pre-Roman, Roman and Medieval sites, shop in designer outlet stores, taste wine in local wineries and eat in exceptional restaurants.

After exploring this beautiful land you can return to relax by the pool or under the shade of an ancient olive tree and admire the great peaks of the Gran Sasso mountain range or watch the lights come on in Castiglione and Montefino.
